As we celebrate 10 years of dedication to promoting access to community education, we are working tirelessly towards providing sustainable solutions for underserved schools, recognizing the importance of creating a conducive learning environment. Through our innovative approach and dedication, we have positively impacted the lives of countless learners. Unfortunately, there is still a huge need in the education sector, particularly in Kilifi, where our most recent Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative took place.
Our managerial team embarked on a transformative CSR project at Korosho Primary School in Kilifi. Recognizing the urgent need for access to clean water in the school, the team sought to address this issue by donating water packs. The intervention ensures the availability of safe drinking water and also helps create a comfortable and hygienic environment for the learners.
During the Nairobi Headteachers Summit, the team had the opportunity to engage with the Deputy Headteacher of Edelvale Primary School, who expressed his concerns about the challenges faced by girls due to the lack of water, particularly during their monthly periods. The unavailability of clean water negatively impacted the girls’ ability to manage their menstrual hygiene effectively, affecting their overall well-being and hindering their education.
Moved by this revelation, PACE immediately supported the students by donating a water tank to Edelvale Primary School. The installation of the water tank will significantly improve the school’s capacity to provide clean and readily available water, creating a clean and comfortable environment for all learners, especially girls. This gesture has alleviated the immediate concerns related to menstrual hygiene and the commitment to tackling systemic issues that hinder access to education.
The decade-long journey is a testament to our unwavering dedication and passion for empowering communities through education. Sustainable water solutions have positively impacted the lives of learners, enabling them to focus on their studies without the burden of inadequate access to clean water.
As we look forward to the future, let us reflect on the power of collective action and the importance of empowering communities through education. Together, we can continue to transform lives and build a more equitable and sustainable world for all.
