Youth-Led Education Interventions Making Waves Across Kenya, Uganda, and Malawi!

As we hit the second half of 2025, we are proud to spotlight the powerful strides made across the region through youth-driven and community-powered education programs. From the final leg of training sessions in Kenya, a flagship graduation in Uganda, to parental empowerment forums and economic upliftment initiatives in Malawi, our mission to promote access to quality education in underserved communities continues to gain momentum. We promise, YOU WILL LOVE IT!

Youth Fellow Trainings in Kenya
The learning journey for our Cohort 1 youth fellows came to an end. At the same time, Cohort 2 recently concluded their final physical training, which took a dynamic turn with a team-building session and vision board creation activity — a reflective exercise designed to anchor their purpose as change agents in education.

A Milestone in Uganda: Community-Based Teaching Assistants Graduate
In partnership with School For Life Uganda, our fellows under the Community-Based Teaching Assistant Fellowship Programme (CBTAF) celebrated a major achievement — graduation. This was more than just a ceremony; it marked the success of our flagship fellowship in Uganda, representing a bold step forward in localizing education access efforts through youth empowerment.

Economic Empowerment Meets Education in Malawi
Our work doesn’t stop in the classroom. In Malawi, we partnered with Street Business School to train parents of learners in PACE-supported schools. The outcome? A graduation of beneficiaries with most participants reporting measurable improvements in their small businesses. This initiative reinforces our belief that economically empowered families are better positioned to support their children’s learning journeys.

Parental Empowerment Forums Strengthen School-Home Partnerships
Under the Parental Empowerment and Engagement (PEE) pillar, our team facilitated 7 forums: 2 in Western, 2 in Nairobi, and 3 in Coast. These sessions unpacked key themes such as: The role of parents in supporting effective learning, barriers that hinder meaningful parental involvement, the impact of active parental participation, and practical activities that parents can engage in to support learners. These forums continue to act as safe and informative spaces for parents to reflect, learn, and grow into educational allies.

What’s Next: Kenya Graduation Season in November!

Mark your calendars! This November, PACEmaker International will celebrate CBTAF graduations across Kenya, in Nairobi, Western, and Kilifi. These events will see our youth fellows officially welcomed as PACE alumni, closing one chapter and opening new doors for leadership, service, and lifelong impact.

From fellowships to family forums, the heartbeat of PACEmaker International remains the same—empowering people to transform education from the grassroots. These milestones are not just numbers or events—they are stories of change, one community at a time.
